The following range of modules offers a number of clear benefits: Simple interface options to allow easy integration of accurate timekeeping into computers, test equipment, domestic goods, etc. |
A low cost solution using dedicated chips designed specifically to receive the Rugby MSF time signal. The advantage of modules over discrete solutions is that the modules include the necessary support electronics, tuned crystals, etc., and are preassembled, tested and in miniature form. Time is accurate to 1 second in 1,000,000. You can be confident that the time is always correct. Automatic correction for summer (BST)/winter (GMT) - no need for manual correction. |
When combined with a suitable MSF Antenna (MK72P) the receiver module acts as a complete MSF time code receiver, providing a serial digital data output stream for external decoding. |
The module has a low-power standby mode with maximum 1╡A current consumption. In active mode the current consumption is less than 1mA, typically 500╡A. The MSF data output is connected internally with an active low open collector npn transistor. |

This prealigned LC tuned ferrite antenna is specifically designed for use with the EM2 MSF Receiver Module (MK68Y). Close proximity to 'radiating' digital equipment, such as desktop PCS, etc., should be avoided as this will degrade the signal-to-noise ratio. |

MCM-RS232 Microcontroller Decoder Module |
When combined with the EM2 MSF Receiver Module (MK68Y) and the MSF Antenna (MK72P), this module provides time information in standard RS232 data format via a serial interface. External buffering to full RS232 levels is required and can be achieved using a proprietary RS232 level shifter IC. The advantage of the module compared to direct host decoding of the receiver output is the presence of exact decoded time information all of the time and no processing overhead. The module also features a switch output. Switch on and off times can be set by the host computer. If the switch output is connected to a suitable mains switch (e.g., Mains Power Switch, LU10L), ancillary equipment can be controlled. The host computer could turn even itself on and off by setting the appropriate switch on and switch off times. |
